White has responsibility for making first contact to arrange the game (contact The Organiser for opponents Email / telephone). If no reasonable attempt has been made to play the game then B will proceed to next round. Please use a longplay format so that games can be graded (ie either 35moves in 75mins and to 63moves after next hour, followed by 30mins rapidplay, or 80 mins per player for the whole game).

If a game is drawn then play a second with reversed colours.

If still drawn, then play a 3rd game with the original colours, but with 30mins per player. The winner of this game progresses to the next round.

Reverse colours again if drawn and if necessary play two 5min games.

If the final 5min score is 1-1 then decide the tie by "Armageddon play-off" rules after a new drawing of colours: W has six minutes and B five minutes. B goes through to the next round if this game is drawn. Only the 2 longplay games will be submitted for grading.
